Anne Barros, RCA, has been a practising silversmith since her graduation in Metal Arts from Humber College, Toronto, in 1978. Further study at the Sir John Cass School of Art in London, England, and benchwork for a production jewellery firm prepared her for a specialty in small functional holloware and flatware. Her work has been exhibited in Canada, the United States, and Germany, and is included in the permanent collections of the Canadian Museum of Civilization, the Macdonald Stewart Art Centre, and the Victoria and Albert Museum. She is a member of the *new* gallery collective which promotes exhibition space for conceptual craft. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Canada Council's Paris Studio. As a writer she has documented metalworking in many articles and a 1997 book and CD-ROM entitled Ornament and Object: Canadian Jewellery and Metal Art 1946-1996.
